Tiger Nails

Hi everyone! Decided to be a bit creative today with my nails and this is what I ended up with ...

If you would like to re-create this look then keep reading!

Tutorial

So to create this look you're going to need a black nail polish, an orange nail polish and a white nail polish. The ones I decided to use were Black by Marks & Spencer, Orange Red by Maybelline New York and Snow by Barbara Day.

Tools:

You're going to obviously need the three nail polishes, a base coat, a top coat, a make-up sponge, a blank A4 piece of paper, and a thin nail art brush.

Steps:

Step 1. Lay the piece of A4 onto a work surface to prevent anything getting ruined and apply a base coat. Then you need to paint all of your nails white (do this until the colour is opaque).

Step 2. When your nails are fully dry pour a small amount of your orange nail polish onto the piece of paper and dab your sponge into it. If you feel there is too much polish on your sponge then dab it onto the paper first to remove the excess and then apply to your nail. Start at the top of your nail and work your way down until roughly 3/4 of your nail is covered in orange.

Step 3. Once your nails are dry repeat this process again concentrating at the top of the nail first as this is where we want the colour to be the darkest (The idea is that it will gradually fade from orange to white). Don't worry about being too precise as this can be as messy as you want it.

Step 4. When you are happy with the orange part of your nails and they are fully dry, pour a small amount of black nail polish onto the A4. Then dip your nail art pen into the polish and start painting your stripes. There is no correct way to do this, just go with it!

Step 5. Once all of your nails are completely dry you can apply your top coat and that's it! So simple and easy.

TIP
Don't worry if some of the orange or black nail polish goes onto your fingers (like mine did) all you need to do is dip a cotton bud into some nail varnish remover and you can get rid of it!

Have fun!

Summer Nails!

Hey everyone! So I had a day off today and the most productive thing I could think of to do was to paint my nails ... obviously. However the biggest problem I faced was deciding what colour! (Such a hard life I lead I know). So I decided to make the very logical, and rational decision to choose a lovely pastel yellow to try and urge the sun to come out again seeing as it was raining today. The nail polish called Mellow Yellow by Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish and it costs £3.99. I absolutely love the colour, however the only slight negative is that it took me about four to five coats to acheive an opaque look so a bit of patience is required! Below is a picture, let me know what you think! :)

What is your favourite summer nail polish?
